Police clampdown on “Tik Tok” vandals at Penketh

3

POLICE are clamping down on youths responsible for thoughtless acts of vandalism at residential properties in the Penketh area of Warrington involving an ongoing “Tik Tok” craze.

Officers have now identified some of the youths involved and are currently dealing with several offenders involved in the “stupid and irresponsible act” of kicking a door as hard as possible while being filmed by a friend on the social media platform Tik Tok.

During the past two winters residents of Penketh have suffered their doors being kicked and damaged with this ongoing TikTok craze. Youths record on their phones the stupid irresponsible act of one of their friends walking down a resident’s path and then kicking the door as hard as possible.
Garage doors have been kicked off their hinges, UPC door frames damaged as well as internal structural damages to property.

Investigation via help from the public has given police names of several offenders who they are currently dealing with.
Once each youth has been spoken to and a decision has been made as to what action the police are taking, an update will be posted.
A police spokesperson said: “Let’s hope this draws an end to this thoughtless act of vandalism.”
