A great incentive to visit the place.
Wow 5p, go once a week and it will cost a whole £2.60pa extra…………..hardly bank breaking.
but the machines dont give change – this will be fun on a busy summers day and plenty will pay more for lack of change – bit of a scam.
Don’t know if it’s changed but as far as I’m aware the machines only take exact money …. ie no change given. I went and It was £2.20 but I had to put £2.50 (my own fault for not having change ) but Bet loads of people will have to put £2.30 if like me they tend to throw their 5p’s in the money jar 🙂 I’m still hoping that someday they introduce a weekday short stay charge of say 50p for less than an hour or £1 for less than 2 hours as I’d go a lot more in the week and I’m sure others would too. It’s currently way too expensive to do that but otherwise pretty good value and a very cheap day out if you are there for most of the day like a lot of visitors from out of the area tend to do.
appologies AR… your comment wasn’t there when I started typing mine.. 🙂
Who could possibly spend a whole day at Walton Gardens?
People who havn’t a garden in weather like today’s
…and also people who want a nice day out with the kids, picnics… etc etc. 🙂
Walton Gardens is crap. I went a few weeks ago after seeing that there would be a classic car display and it would be on until 4pm. I went with my little boy and arrived at 2:40 and paid £3.00 for the parking because it was the only change I had. We got onto the gardens and there were 6 cars left. All the rest had buggered off! Not only are the council stealing money by not offering anywhere to give change for the machines, but they can’t even organise a simple event! …. there are also too many dogs on there when there are kids running around.
