Superfast broadband next year

BT is to install superfast broadband in parts of the north of Warrington by the end of next year.
The Padgate telephone exchange will be able to deliver broadband speeds of up to 40 mbs per second to the majority of homes and businesses which access broadband from the exchange.
Helen Jones, MP for Warrington North, has welcomed the news.
She said: “I am pleased that BT will be delivering super-fast broadband for residents in Warrington North who receive their internet from the Padgate exchange.
“We need the fastest broadband available to help local businesses and residents access the internet.
“However, I will continue to push BT to make super-fast broadband available across Warrington North. The very slow connection speeds that some businesses and residents have to endure in parts of the town are simply not good enough.”
BT is investing £2.5 billion to deliver fibre broadband to up to two thirds of UK homes and businesses. It is the largest single commercial investment in fibre-based broadband ever undertaken in the UK, and is currently one of the biggest civil engineering projects running in Europe.

  1. Exactly how has the wonderful Miss Jones made this happen? it’s nothing to do with her involvement… this is just trying to get cheap publicity!

  2. I’m not really bothered who made it happen. I’m just glad that it is finally going to happen and we are going to get the broadband speeds that BT have been promising for years. It seems ridiculous in this day and age that you have to be within 3 miles of an exchange to be able to get decent connections to the internet.

  3. Liebour;....Don't worry, the grandkids will pay! on

I’ve been paying for the rip off “up to 20mb broadband” for 5 years and as I live in Warrington South will probably have to wait another 10 years to get anything decent….. I notice the Jones/Vobe woman did bugger all to get the fibre network implimented during her partys 13 years in power (even Korea get fibre to every house!)
