The dearest cup of tea possible

AN 87-year-old disabled woman had the “dearest cup of tea possible” when her daughter dropped her off at a Stockton Heath teashop.
Helen Dutton dropped her mum off to meet friends at a teashop in Walton Road – and then tried to find somewhere to park.
She eventually parked in what she thought was the nearest disabled parking bay to the teashop – only to get booked because it was actually a loading bay.
The markings had faded and there were two real disabled parking bays nearby.
Helen – a member of Stockton Heath Parish Council – said: “I was unaware that I had parked in a loading bay as the markings were rubbed out. I put the disabled badge in the windscreen and set the time – and then got a parking ticket.
“I feel really aggrieved about this.”
She was particularly annoyed because the two real parking places were empty at the time.
“It turned out to be the dearest damn cup of tea possible,” she said.
