A section of Liverpool Road at Great Sankey will close for up to two weeks later this month (January) to allow gas mains replacement works.

The closure, which is set to come into force on January 16 involves the section of Liverpool Road from its junction with Penketh Road to East Avenue.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Liverpool Road from its junction with Penketh Road to its junction with East Avenue.
The Order will be effective from 16th January 2023 for two weeks, as and when signed on site.

Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Penketh Road, Sankey Way and vice versa.
The closure is required to allow Cadent to carry out gas mains replacement works.
