FARMER Frank Lythgoe is seeking retrospective planning consent for a new agricultural building to replace a barn damaged by a storm of February last year at Howshoots Farm, Cliff Lane, Grappenhall.
Warrington Borough Council planning chiefs are considering his application for a new steel portal frame building on the same footprint as the previous building.
Mr Lythgoe has been farming the surrounding agricultural land for 50 years with the business mainly comprising of arable cropping.
Planning officers have been told no landscaping is deemed necessary for the new building which is screened by existing mature trees. Adequate access is available off Cliff Lane.
The design of the new building is similar to almost all agricultural buildings and in keeping with its countryside location.
