Drunken woman arrested for assaulting police officer

A drunken woman was arrested in Warrington town centre last night after allegedly assaulting a police officer.

The woman had been arrested for being drunk and disorderly in the town centre area and then allegedly assaulted a police officer.
She has now been further arrested for this offence and will be dealt with accordingly.
It was one of several arrests throughout the night.
