Four women injured in car crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a collision on a Warrington country lane early today which left four women with serious injuries.
The crash happened around 2.10 a.m. this morning, Friday April 8, on Lumb Brook Road, Appleton, Warrington. The vehicle involved is a grey and black Audi A4, with four occupants on board. While negotiating a bend the vehicle left the road and collided with a tree.
The four occupants on board were all taken to Warrington Hospital with serious injuries. Three of them remain detained this evening. The occupants are a 25 year old woman and a 16 year old girl both from Prestbury, Macclesfield and a 24 year old woman and a 16 year old girl from Warrington. All of them suffered serious injuries consisting of fractures, bruising, and whiplash.
The 24 year old woman from Warrington was released this afternoon, but the other three casualties remain detained at Warrington Hospital for further treatment or observations.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision itself, around 2 a.m. this morning, or have any information which could assist the collision investigator, to contact PC Richard Hooley at Warrington Roads Policing Unit on 0845 458 0000, quoting Incident number 66 of 8/904/2011.
Police have established that the grey / black audi A4 SE TDI CVT, which has 4 doors, was driving in and around Warrington town centre from midnight onwards, and are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle between midnight and shortly after 2 a.m. when the crash occurred to make contact with PC Hooley on 0845 458 0000.

  1. Is it normal for the police to enquire about a vehicles movements in the few hours prior to an accident ? I hope they all make a speedy recovery.
