Police helicopter called as suspected car thieves flee on foot

THE police helicopter was called out over South Warrington yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon, as two suspected car thieves fled on foot after being spotted at Lymm.

A police officer at Lymm had spotted a suspected stolen vehicle in the village.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At around 2pm on Tuesday 27 December a police officer on patrol in a police car spotted a suspected stolen car in the Lymm after.
“Officers stopped the car and two men fled the scene on foot.
“Officers, supported by the police helicopter, conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the men.”
The helicopter was spotted circling across Lymm, Grapenhall and Appleton during the search.
