A footpath closure has been extended to allow construction works in association with the Trans Pennine Trail footway/cycleway improvement scheme off Wilderspool Causeway.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is to introduce a footpath closure on the Trans Pennine Trail from Greenall’s Avenue to A49 Wilderspool Causeway.

The Order was to be effective from 9th January 2023 for 12 weeks, however due to delays on site the closure is now required to remain in place until 7th July 2023, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative route and reason for the works remains the same as previously advertised.
