Business as usual for DAD!

PLANS are well under way for the 20th anniversary Disability Awareness Day event at Walton Gardens, Warrington.
Last year’s Northwest Disability Awareness Day (DAD) saw a record number of 28,000 visitors, many of them travelling from across the Northwest and the UK and despite the loss of its main sponsor, the North West development Agency, it will be business as usual.
Event founder Dave Thompson and other members of the team have already taken the plunge with a sponsored scuba dive which raised in excess of £10,000 in Sponsorship and Warrington Primary Care Trust have also agreed to become a main sponsor.
Meanwhile DAD 2011 will be supported by a week of complimentary events, leading up to the exhibition on Sunday July 10. The events will be held in a tented village located in the picturesque setting of Walton Hall Gardens situated off the A56 in Warrington Cheshire.
This year the dedicated DAD team will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the event, which has continued to grow with the support of both local and national organisations.
The event boasts something for everyone, with over 300 exhibition stands promoting independent living, with areas dedicated to Arts, Sports and family entertainments.
DAD covers all disabilities, ages, carers and families, and if you work in the field of health, social care or disability there will be plenty to interest you.
DAD also offers a free and accessible park & ride service, free admission and programme.
