Road closures for Lymm Dickensian Festival

A number of road closures will be in place this Saturday (December 10) for the Lymm Dickensian Festival, which involves a Santa dash and a parade through the village.

The Santa dash organised by Lymm Runners will set off at 1.30 pm from outside the surgery on Brookfield Road, followed by a parade involving local community groups and schools and steam traction engines.

There will be various street stalls and entertainment taking place in the village centre from 11 am.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice on the occasion of the above mentioned event, no cart, carriage, motor car, lorry or other vehicle (excepting vehicles taking part in the event, Police, Ambulance and Fire Service vehicles and Mail Carts) and no horses or other animal be allowed to remain in or travel along or over any of the undermentioned streets.

Between the hours detailed below on Saturday 10th December 2022:
Between the hours of 7.00 am and 6.00 pm
The Cross, between Eagle Brow and Pepper Street
Eagle Brow, between The Cross and Brookfield Road
Bridgewater Street
Whitbarrow Road between Bridgewater Street and Brookfield Road

Between the hours of 12.30 pm and 1.45 pm
Brookfield Road between Whitbarrow Road and Eagle Brow

Between the hours of 1.00 pm and 2.30 pm
The Cross, between Pepper Street and Lymm Bridge
Lymm Bridge
New Road, between Lymm Bridge and Dane Bank Road East

Bicycles and Tricycles are included in the term “vehicle” and must not be ridden through any of the named streets during the hours specified. Any person wilfully acting in contravention of the above Order will be liable to a penalty not exceeding £400.
Vehicular access will be under the control of the organisers. Pedestrian and emergency routes will be maintained.
