VILLAGERS turned out in force for the official switch-on of the Christmas lights in Stockton Heath on Friday evening.
Organised by Stockton Heath Parish Council, the Christmas lights event took place in Victoria Square.
Carols were sung by pupils from St Thomas C of E Primary and Stockton Heath Primary Schools.
Santa made a guest appearance on the balcony of the Mulberry Tree Pub waving to onlookers.
Chair of the parish council Cllr Pam Todd said: “Members of Stockton Heath Parish Council were delighted to see a large crowd of people turn up for their annual Christmas lights Switch on at Victoria Square on Friday, 2nd December, 2022 and wish to thank everyone who came to this happy event. IIt was a lovely evening, and children from the local schools and the village sang carols beautifully. Father Christmas also made an appearance at the Mulberry Tree Inn.”
Meanwhile, the official switch-on of the Christmas lights at Walton will take place tomorrow, Sunday between 4.45pm-6pm.
