Greyhound dies after kennels fire

TWENTY five greyhounds were released from a single storey kennels building at Warrington after fire broke out.
One dog had to be put to sleep due to smoke inhalation but the others were not seriously harmed.
The blaze was at a kennels in Warrington Road, Risley and was caused by an electrical fault in a tumble dryer in a kitchen area.
Fire crews assisted the owner of the property in released the greyhounds and tackled the laze using one main jet. Gas and electricity supplies were isolated and a ventilation unit brought into use to clear smoke from the building.
A woman suffered the effects of smoke inhalation and was treated by ambulance crews.
