MP launches music challenge

DAVID Mowat, MP for Warrington South has launched the Blastbeat Education UK Warrington initiative at Priestley College.
Blastbeat is a business and social enterprise charity empowering young people to set up and run a Blastbeat music challenge.
By organising their own musical event, students are able to develop key skills and raise money for the chosen charity of their choice.
Warrington businesses including Fiona Bruce solicitors, Unilever, Watkinson Black accountants, the Rotary Club and Arley Homes joined head teachers from Penketh High, Sir Thomas Boteler High, Priestley College and Great Sankey High, as well as dozens of eager Priestley students who have already signed up to the project.
Mr Mowat said: “I am proud to be introducing the Blastbeat initiative to Warrington. The young people that are getting involved today are going to develop invaluable life skills by being involved in a project that’s not only fun, but will raise a considerable amount of money for charity. I would encourage any business to get involved in whatever way they can.”
Any other businesses that would like further information can contact Mr Mowat’s office on 01925 231 267 or by visiting http://uk.blastbeat.org/about
