Warrington Borough Council has confirmed a section of Winwick Lane will be closed from 7pm this Friday (Nov 25) to allow ducting and drainage works associated with the Parkside development.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of this will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Winwick Lane from its junction with the M6 junction 22 to its junction with Sandy Brow Lane.

The Order will be effective from 7pm on this Friday, 25th November 2022 to 6am on 28th November 2022, as and when signed on site.
Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Newton Road, Southworth Road, Mill Lane, Winwick Road, Newton Road, Winwick Link Road and vice versa.

The closure is required to allow for the installation of ducting and drainage works associated with the Parkside development.
Work is ongoing to create a link road connecting the 230-acre former colliery site at Newton-le-Willows to J22 of the M6.
The first phase of employment space is due to complete before the end of June 2024, and Parkside Regeneration, is a joint venture between St Helens Council and developer Langtree.
