CABLING work which has disrupted traffic on busy Cherry Lane, Lymm for some weeks is nearing completion.

Today ( Monday) the work, being carried out by SP Energy Networks, is set to move from Cherry Lane – outside the Co-op store – onto the A56.
But on the A56, temporary traffic lights will be introduced to enable one lane to be kept open rather than the road being fully closed.

A spokesman for SP Energy Networks said: “We understand our works on Cherry Lane have resulted in some disruption for residents. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and would like to thank all residents in Lymm for their continued patience and understanding.
“We expect our cabling work in Lymm to be completed by the end of 2022.”
Bus stops on the A56 will remain in use during the work.
The work has been necessary to provide increased capacity for electric vehicle charging points at Lymm Services.
A Cherry Lane resident said: “We will be pleased to see the work completed but the contractors have carried out complicated and difficult work very efficiently and have minimised disruption.”
