THERE were no arrests and no victims after armed police and a helicopter descended on a residential street at Chapelford, Warrington, following reports of a “disturbance”.
Police received a 999 call at 4pm yesterday, Wednesday, following reports of a disturbance at a block of flats on Portland Road in Great Sankey. Eye witness reported seeing a person being dragged from the premises.
A number of roads were closed as armed police officers and dogs went into the flats. A police helicopter was also seen circling above the area.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 4pm on Wednesday 9 November, police were called to reports of a possible disturbance at flats in Portland Road, Great Sankey.
“Local officers, supported by firearms officers and the police helicopter, attended the scene and conducted a thorough search of the area.
“There were no signs of a disturbance and no victims have come forward.
“Portland Road was closed while officers dealt with the incident, it reopened at around 6pm.”
