PUPILS from five Warrington primary schools are to take part in a range of activities to involve children in the Orford Park Project – a key Olympic legacy scheme.
They will undertake a range of writing, problem solving, design and sporting activities and the best work will be placed in time capsules to be buried by each of the schools.
The event, held at William Beamont High School on behalf of the Orford Park Project Team, local primary schools and Orford Park contractors Galliford Try will mark the 500 day countdown to the London 2012 Olympic Games on Tuesday.
Schools taking part are Beamont Primary, Meadowside Primary and Nursery, St Margaret’s CE Primary, St Ann’s CE Primary and St Andrew’s CE Primary.
Each of the tasks tackled by the youngsters will be based around the three Olympic values of friendship, respect and excellence and the four Paralympic values of determination, courage, equality and inspiration.
Prizes will be presented by the Mayor, Cllr John Joyce.
