PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have rejected proposals to convert an outbuilding previously used as a gymnasium into a four bedroom dwelling.

Warrington Borough Council planners say the proposed development in the grounds of Cuerdon Cottage, in Cuerdon Drive, Thelwall would be inappropriate in the Green Belt.

It proposed the retention of a replacement conservatory, retention of an extension and change of use of the gym building to form a single dwelling, including the retention of a bedroom formed from a previously walled courtyard.
Access to the new dwelling would have been shared with the existing access to Cuerdon Cottage to Weaste Lane.
The single-storey building has a wine cellar at the lower ground floor level, which would have been retained.
The conversion envisaged four bedrooms, a snug and an open-plan kitchen/living/garden room.
