LABOUR have named their candidate for the forthcoming borough council by-election at Warrington.
Jan Davidson, a former councillor for Great Sankey and former deputy Mayor will contest the vacancy in Westbrook arising from the resignation of Cllr Natalie Douglas, Labour, who is expecting her first baby.
Ms Davidson said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve people in the Westbrook ward and I would be honoured if they put their trust and faith in me at this election.
“Voters in Westbrook and Callands deserve a councillor who will always be on their side in these difficult times; and whether I’m pressing for this council to take action on the Omega site, or tackling the problems with litter in Callands, I pledge to always be a voice for Westbrook at the Town Hall.
“This election will be a real test of the policies of not only the Lib Dems and Tories on Warrington Council, but of David Cameron and Nick Clegg as well. Westbrook deserves a fair deal and, as the Tories turn their backs and unleash their savage spending cuts, that is exactly what I will be fighting for.”
Campaign manager Chris Vobe said: “It is with enormous delight that I greet Jan’s selection as our candidate for Westbrook. In all the years I have known her, she has always been a tireless campaigner for people in Warrington. Already, she has hit the ground running with her election campaign, with her enthusiasm and determination to secure the best for everyone who lives in this part of the town.”

  1. and when is this election?

this person is not local – bit like the one in great sankey south – she lives in Appleton how posh is she and i believe she and hubby are standing in May

  2. I t is almost a month since we heard of this cllr going. Why has this not been called? I take it she is happy to keep taking her money each month – that’s shocking but then Labour do well on expenses don’t they not only local but look who’s been locked up.
