WARRINGTON born champion jockey Paul Hanagan has become a patron of the Wolves Charitable Foundation.
Paul was a guest of Warrington Wolves at the game against Leeds and was presented with his patronage certificate by the Chairman of the Foundation Cllr Terry O Neill.
Paul, an ex-pupil of Sir Thomas Boteler in Warrington, became champion Flat jockey for 2010 after defeating Richard Hughes and lifting the trophy at Doncaster racecourse on the final day of the season.
As a huge believer in the impact sport has on the community and people’s lives Paul said: “The Foundation does a fantastic job in the community and it’s up to the players and sportspeople like myself to help promote their activities.”
Foundation Director Neil Kelly added: “We are specially proud that Paul has decided to become a patron of The Foundation. His achievements and involvement promoting our work will hopefully help inspire our young people.”
