Bungalow extensions approved – despite objections from council

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have approved extension proposals for a bungalow at Lymm – despite objections from the local parish council.

They say the extensions to the semi-detached dwelling in Statham Avenue, Lymm will have no unacceptable impact on the character of the area, the residential amenity of neighbouring residents, nor on parking provision or the local highway network.

The scheme involves the demolition of an existing garden storage building and the erection of a single-storey side and rear extension, external rendering, hip-to-gable roof extension, enlargement of a front dormer and installation of a new rear dormer.

Lymm Parish Council opposed the scheme on the grounds it would represent over-development of the site and that the style and “significant” size of the extension would not be in keeping with the street scene. But no objections were received from neighbours.
Warrington Borough Council planning officers said the principle of the extensions was acceptable in a residential area and recommended the scheme be approved.
