CAMPAIGNERS who successfully saved their local pub from demolition by buying it for the local community, have now gone live with a share issue to help return the Raven Inn at Glazebury back to its glory days.

The shares launch event for the Raven Inn, at Culcheth High School, yesterday (Oct 13) , was well attended by over 100 people.
At a lively and positive meeting, the shares Crowdfunder site went live just before the meeting started and just over five hours later had brought in nearly £70k.
The main emphasis at the meeting was on the management team, who will be running the Raven, answering questions from the floor.

Spokesperson Peter Sturman said: “We really wanted to make this a meeting for the community. Yes, we gave information about the share offer but we were keen to be open to all questions from our community. The best way to assess how well you have got your message across is to open yourself up to questions.
“We were really pleased with the turnout and the depth of the questions. We made a note of all questions and will publish those, along with the answers.
“We are indebted to everyone who attended and delighted by the level of engagement.
“By the end of the day, after being open for five-and-a-half hours the Raven share offer stood at £68,500

Peter added: “After just a few hours we have reached 37% of our Crowdfunder target. There is certainly a way to go but we are delighted with the early signs.
“We must consolidate on this and push on to keep that total rising.”
