A WARRINGTON school is going for a world record – after its previous achievement featured in the 2010 Guinness Record Book was toppled.
Sir Thomas Boteler CE High School, a specialist music college, will go for the challenge at its annual music festival Boteler Out Loud on July 8 from 12noon to 7pm.
Last year’s festival attracted 1,200 people.
Deputy head teacher Mrs B Scott-Herron said: “We have discovered that the new World Record that we set in 2009, for musical statues, and which was featured in the 2010 Guinness Record Book, has now been broken.
“We plan to win it back and gain another one for Musical Bumps – a game where the last one to sit down when the music stops is eliminated each round. We expect to have fantastic publicity for our efforts this year.”
Organisers are looking for people to sponsor the event in a range of ways including posters, adverts, festival programmes, stage banners and raffle prizes.
