Policeman in three peaks challenge

A WARRINGTON police officer and his colleagues from throughout Cheshire are taking the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for charity.
The Cheshire Police team aims to tackle the three famous peaks – Scafell Pike, England, Ben Nevis, Scotland and Snowdon, Wales, with the 24-hour challenge time.
The time must also include driving the 500 miles between the three peaks.
Sergeant Chris Nightingale, from Warrington South Neighbourhood Policing Team, will join the challenge in May.
Team mate Constable Paul Boneham, from Chester, said: “It is going to be tough on those of us climbing and the people doing the driving, but we have put some training in and we are determined to do it.
“We have chosen May 11th/12 because we think the weather should be about right and we have scheduled the climbs so that we avoid rush-hours on the journeys between the peaks.”
The team is raising money for Cancer Research. It was chosen as almost all team members have relatives or friends who have suffered from various types of cancer.
The team is looking for businesses and individuals to sponsor or donate items for the trip. People can donate on www.justgiving.com/ThreePeaks-Chepol
