Warrington Town boss hoping for change of fortunes

WARRINGTON Town manager Mark Beesley says his side has got to keep believing in what they’re doing and their luck will change.

The Yellows suffered a second successive defeat at the weekend as they were beaten 1-0 at home by FC United.

Will Russ’ winner came against the run of play, as the hosts couldn’t find a way past man of the match goalkeeper Wyll Stanway.

Beesley said: “The keeper was outstanding. Everyone who came to the ground today has seen a great display. He’s made three or four worldie saves, sometimes it’s not meant to be. The finishes were good, it was just great saves.

“We’ve got to keep believing in. There was only one team in it second half. We’ve just got to keep going, we’ve got good players and good forwards and hopefully our luck will turn a bit.

“We got to take the positives, we’ve got to keep clean sheets. The irony is we’re defending really well but we’re giving a goal away every week with some sort of error and we don’t seem to get that at the other end. That’s football, so hopefully it’ll change.

“We’re in a sticky spell now, losing two on the bounce isn’t nice. We’ve got to dust ourselves down, keep believing in what we’re doing and hope that these chances start going in.

The Yellows are back in league action away at Bamber Bridge on Tuesday night, before back-to-back home games against Radcliffe and Warrington Rylands.

Meanwhile, they have once again been handed a long away trip to kick off the FA Trophy campaign.

Beesley’s side will travel to Hebburn Town on Saturday October 8 in the third qualifying round, for the second successive season.

Last year, goals from Jack Mackreth and Stefan Mols won the same fixture 2-0.
