WARRINGTON photographer Eddie Whitham thought he had stepped into a scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller “The Birds” during a trip out to the countryside.
The number of seagulls and starlings was like nothing he had ever seen before.
The seagulls were flocking around a landfill site near Moore while the Starlings occupied power lines near Marbury Country Park.
“It was quite unnerving seeing so many birds congregating,” said Eddie. “It was just like a scene from Hithcock’s The Birds!
“I know it is common for seagulls to gather near landfill tips but I have never seen as many as this before. It was strange to see two species of birds congregating at the same time.”

We went to Moore Nature researve last Friday and were amazed by the number of seagulls near one of the lakes until I zoomed in with my camera and spotted Arpley Landfil site on the hill. There there were masses of birds circling the lorries as they tipped out their goods. Definately like the hitchcock movie but no starlings where we were.
