Casualty suffers burns as house evacuated during fireplace blaze

ONE casualty suffered burns when a fireplace caught fire at a property in Whittle Hall, Warrington, last night.

Shortly before 9:30 pm last night two crews from Penketh and Warrington were called to a property on Lakenheath Crescent.

The house was evacuated after a fire involving a living room fireplace. Once the fire was out the crews cut away the scorched carpet in front of the fireplace and used a thermal imaging camera to check there were no further hotspots.
One casualty suffered burns and was treated by the crews until the ambulance arrived.
