FIVE weeks of highway improvement works are set to start at Orford at the end of October.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: Capesthorne Road from its junction with Avery Close to its junction with Poplars Avenue; Barrow Avenue from its junction with Capesthorne Road to a point 15 metres north, outside No. 1 Barrow Avenue.

The Order will be effective from 31st October 2022 for 5 weeks, between 9am and 5pm, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative route will be via Greenwood Crescent, Poplars Avenue and vice versa. The closure is required to facilitate highway improvement works.
The works are not part of the proposed Low Traffic Neighbourhood schemes and involve installing new speed humps.
