Road closure extended at Great Sankey for sewer repairs due to delays on site

A further two weeks of road closures have been put in place at Great Sankey while United Utilities carry out sewer repairs in the area.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 15th September 2022. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: Charles Avenue from its junction with Wilmot Avenue to its junction with Cedar Road; Wilmot Avenue from its junction with Charles Avenue to its junction with Halton Road.

The Order was to be effective from 26th September 2022 for 2 weeks, however due to delays on site the closure on Wilmot Avenue will remain in place for a further 2 weeks, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route and reason for the works remains the same as previously advertised.

The restrictions are required for United Utilities to carry out sewer repairs.
