Hyde awaits if Warrington Town navigate FA Cup replay

A TRIP to Hyde United awaits Warrington Town if they can beat Morpeth Town in tonight’s FA Cup replay.

Hyde were 4-0 winners at Rylands on Saturday, while the Yellows’ 2-2 draw at Morpeth meant the all-Warrington league game scheduled for this evening was postponed.

Luke Duffy and Stefan Mols twice gave them the lead in the north east, with two equalisers meaning the two sides must go again at Cantilever Park.

It will be the sixth time that the two sides have met since Mark Beesley took over from Paul Carden last November.

They have already met at Cantilever Park this season, with the Yellows scoring two late goals to win 2-0.

The second qualifying round draw was made on Monday and will see Hyde host the winner of the replay on Saturday September 17.

Meanwhile, the Yellows have announced the signings of defenders Teddy Mfuni and Declan Walker.

Walker makes the crosstown switch from Rylands, while Mfuni joins after being released by Preston in the summer.

Manager Beesley said: “Teddy’s someone we’ve been interested in for about six weeks. It’s been a bit drawn-out but with us only having two centre-halves, we wanted another one to put pressure on them. I’m thankful we’ve been able to get that one over the line.

“Dec became available in the middle of last week and we saw it as a good opportunity to bring a good player and character into our squad.

“He can play a variety of positions, he’s a local lad and a good player. To bring someone in of his calibre will only enhance the squad.”
