FIRE crews were called out to tackle more fires in the open in the Warrington area yesterday, Sunday.

Shortly after 3 pm firefighters and police officers attended an incident involving a fire on Orford Park off Alder lane. The area was dampened down using a water backpack.

Earlier in the day, a crew was called to a fire on scrubland off Keyes Close, Oakwood.

What3words helped firefighters to locate a scrubland fire off Keyes Close. When they arrived at the scene they found around eight square metres of trees, scrubland and peat involved in fire. They used a hose reel jet and a main jet to bring the fire under control.
