Infection rates continue to fall but four more COVID-19 related deaths at Warrington hospital

WHILE COVID-19 infection rates have continued to fall across the borough four more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week .

The 113  cases week ending August 26 compared to 158  cases in the week ending August 19, compared to 193 the previous week and 213 the week before that. While there have been four more COVID-19-related hospital deaths since last week, inpatient numbers have risen slightly from 38-39  with 31 (29) patients discharged since last Wednesday.

Current inpatients as of Wednesday, August 31, 2022, compared to Wednesday, August 24 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 39 (38) including 1 (1) in ICU.

The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 712 – 340 per 100,000.

There have been 113 (158) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 82,279 (82,176) – 76,528 (76,363)  1st infections,  5,751 (5,717) second and an infection rate of 54 (75.5) per 100,000 which has fallen compared to a rate of 43.6 (53.6) for England which has also fallen.
