Fence destroyed by fire after hot embers placed in wheelie bin

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a fence fire between two properties at Croft, caused by hot embers being placed in a wheelie bin.

At 14:43 yesterday one crew from Birchwood was called to Wadeson Way, following reports of a fence fire.

A fence between two properties was well alight and caused slight damage to both properties, a shed and a wheelie bin. The blaze was put out by firefighters using a hose reel jet. The fence was completely destroyed.
