Air ambulance called out after two people trapped in overturned vehicle

THE North West Air Ambulance was called to Warrington this morning to deal with a road crash which left two people trapped in an overturned vehicle.

Both were taken to Warrington Hospital after the crash in Ordnance Avenue, Birchwood, shortly after 10am.

Fire and rescues from Warrington and Birchwood went to the scene and found one vehicle on its roof with two people trapped inside.
They stabilised the vehicle while using specialist equipment to extricate the casualties and then performed first aid.
One casualty was transferred to a road ambulance and the other to the air ambulance. Both were taken to Warrington Hospital.

Police sealed off both ends of Ordnance Avenue during the operation.
No details of injuries have been released.
