AN investigation has started into a fire which caused serious damage to a garage at Great Sankey, Warrington, last night.
The blaze in Stratton Road at 19:20 involved a detached garage and fire engines from Warrington and Penketh went to the scene.
Firefighters used four hose reel jets to tackle the fire and then checked for fire spread, including in the loft space and in the surrounding area, damping down and digging out.
An adjoining garage was also checked for fire spread using a thermal imaging camera.
Once the fire was out and all areas checked for hotspots, the crews emptied the contents from the garage.
Cause of the fire is being investigated.
