ALL lanes of the M6 Southbound near Warrington have now re-opened following a car fire that caused lengthy delays earlier today.
The incident took place shortly after noon on the M6 southbound junctions 21A to 20
One fire engine from Warrington and one from Altrincham attended a car fire on the M6 which resulted in the southbound carriageway to be closed by the highways agency.
The fire in the vehicle, which was on the hard shoulder, was put out by firefighters in breathing apparatus using a hose reel jet.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Delays of up to seven miles of slow moving traffic were being reported at one stage.
