Talks ongoing over future of Gravity and Newton’s bar

TALKS are ongoing over the future of the Gravity trampoline centre and Newton’s Restaurant and bar in Time Square, which both closed without warning at the start of the school summer holidays.

The sudden closures came as a surprise with the trampoline centre stripped of its contents.

A notice on the company’s local website said; “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the venue will be closed temporarily whilst Gravity works hard to re-establish the capacity of their Warrington venue. Gravity is supporting all staff whilst the site is closed and is committed to the Warrington venue and its team there.

“Gravity is in the process of contacting the franchisees customers affected to apologise for the inconvenience, and investigate issuing refunds. This is an isolated issue involving the franchise site at Warrington, no other parks are affected.
Michael Harrison, co-founder of Gravity said: “We’re committed to supporting the staff on site and re-opening the venue so families and kids can get back to their summer plans and enjoying some fun family time”.

To find out when the venue will reopen please visit the Gravity Warrington website for updates and further information.

Described as a New York-style venue Newtons Restaurant & Bar opened last October, owned by Gravity Active Entertainment, alongside its multi-discipline site Gravity Warrington.
Gravity opened earlier with wall-to-wall trampolines, the inclusive concept included a clip n climb, ninja course with drop slides, wipeout, soft play, social darts, next-generation sports simulator, as well as a fully-stocked café and bar.
It is understood that both venues were being run as a franchise when they suddenly closed without warning at the start of the school summer holidays.
Following the closures, came the announcement that the nearby Cineworld, also located in Time Square, could be facing bankruptcy.
It is due to host the Warrington Business Conference next month.

A Warrington Borough Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of the news in relation to Cineworld and will look to speak with the tenant in Time Square as soon as possible. We have nothing further to add at this stage. With regard to Gravity and Newtons, we continue discussions with the franchisor.”
