AN Army bomb disposal squad was called to Warrington after a man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and damage property.
They made safe a number of devices found in a bag on waste ground off Marsh House Lane.
Police say a 52-year-old man was arrested in the town centre yesterday (Sunday) on suspicion of making threats to kill and also threatening to commit damage.
After the arrest, officers went to the waste ground at about 6.15pm following a report of a bag being found containing possible incendiary devices.
A cordon was set up and an Army bomb disposal team attended and made the devices safe.
A police spokeswoman said: “The threats related to named individuals who are known to the man and did not involve the wider community.”
Enquiries are still ongoing.
