Busy road closed for up to eight weeks for resurfacing works

A busy road at Lower Stretton, Warrington, will close today for up to eight weeks, for resurfacing works.

From today, Monday 22 August works will be taking place to resurface Northwich Road, Lower Stretton from the roundabout at M56 Junction 10 to the borough boundary, which will take up to 8 weeks to complete.

The road, and its side roads, will be closed between 7:00pm and 1:00am Monday to Friday (Saturday morning) to undertake the works safely.

All roads will be fully open to traffic outside the working times.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the works.
Vehicular access will be severely restricted and under the control of the Contractor on site at all times.
The signed alternative route will be via A49 Tarporley Road, A533 Runcorn Road, A533 Winnington Lane, A533 Winnington Street, A533 Bull Ring, A533 Watling Street, A559 Chester Way, A559 Manchester Road or via A559 Manchester Road, A559 Chester Way, A5509 Chester Way, A533 Castle Street, A533 Winnington Street, A533 Winnington Lane, A533 Runcorn Road, A49 Tarporley Road

Cones, barriers and signs are there for a reason – to protect our workers from danger and to keep the public safe. We urge drivers to pay close attention to safety when driving near roadworks.
