Online gamble led to fantasy life

A WARRINGTON student has been living something of a fantasy life – all on the back of taking a chance and applying for an opportunity he saw on-line.
Dan Brown, 18, a second year student at Priestly College applied for an internship at the world famous fashion house Alexander McQueen and became one of just five candidates selected.
He said: “I saw the position on-line and thought I would give it a go. Before I knew it, I was accepted after they were impressed with my portfolio.
“During my time there I helped with the design of promotional materials and researched the new collection. It’s certainly been a whirlwind as on some occasions a working day would last in excess of 20 hours, and I slept in the office.”
Dan who is studying A-levels in Art, Graphics, Media and Business will now return to the fashion house latet this month for his next period of work experience and is also waiting to see if he has been successful in his application to study at the London School of Fashion.
He said: “It’s certainly been an interesting experience in an ultra competitive industry and the most memorable time of my life. Hopefully I am now on the ladder; ideally I would like to pursue fashion related public relations and to that end may soon be approaching Vogue Magazine in an attempt to secure another internship.”
