Six fire crews tackle large grass fire involving a tractor on farmland at Rixton

SIX fire crews were called out to tackle a large grass fire involving a tractor on farmland at Rixton, Warrington, shortly before 5 pm today, Monday.

The fire crews, supported by a specialist wildfire unit were called to the incident off Prospect Lane, Warrington

Firefighters brought the grass fire under control while attempting to access a tractor which was also involved in the fire.

At 8pm the number of fire engines at the scene was reduced to four plus the wildfire unit.
The wildfire unit was tackling the right-hand flank of fire, while two fire engines fought the left flank and two further engines tackle the fire involving the tractor.
There has been no report of any injuries.
