Fire crews called out to another deliberate fire in woodland at Hood Manor

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle another deliberate fire in woodland at Hood Manor, Warrington, earlier today, Saturday.

It was the second such fire in less than 24 hours.

One fire crew from Penketh attended at the scene off Burtonwood Road at 10am.

Firefighters used a water backpack to put out a fire involving tree roots which is believed to have been started deliberately. It follows on from a similar incident yesterday.

In another incident, a fire crew from Warrington was called out to another fire in the open at Bewsey.

Shortly before 9 pm Firefighters used a water backpack to put out a fire involving branches that had been put in a bin and set alight in parkland off Lilford Avenue, Warrington.
