A footpath that closed in January is set to be closed for another six months due to a housing development at Appleton.

Warrington Borough Council made the above Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 27th January 2022. The effect of which was to introduce a footpath closure on Appleton Footpath No. 20 from its junction with Green Lane to its junction with Cann Lane South.

The Order was to be effective from 31st January 2022 for 6 months, however, due to the nature of the closure, the Secretary of State has granted permission for an extension of a further 6-month period to 31st January 2023, or such lesser period as determined by the earlier completion of the works.
The closure will be in place when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The closure is required to allow for the construction of a new housing development.
