Eight wins on the bounce for buoyant Grappers

GRAPPENHALL picked up their eighth win on the bounce to strengthen their position as second in the RSK Cheshire County League division.

But leaders Cheadle also won to stay 10 points ahead. Grappers were hosting Urmston and dispatched them with relative ease to win by five wickets.
Urmston were bowled out for just 140 with Ian Hall, 3-22 and Lewis Porter, 3-14, doing the damage.
In response Grappers chased down the total with 20 overs to spare, for the loss of five wickets. Captain Pete Barnes starred with the bat 61 not out to see Grappers comfortably home.
Grappenhall 2nd won by 45 runs at Marple after posting a par score of 177 all out in 49 overs. Opener Daniel Atkins top scoried with a run-a-ball 61.
Marple struggled from the off as the Grappers attack dominated. Matt Titchard picked up 5-46 as the hosts were rolled over for 132.
Grappenhall 3rd won to climb to fourth in the table after beating North East Cheshire by 50 runs in a run fest.
Grappers posted a massive 241-5 off their 40 overs with Ben Clissold hit 55 and Yuvan Sunderamoorthy 54, Zak Judge 42 not out Stan Pennington 41.
It was always a tough ask for the opposition but they reached 191 before being bowled out. Fameesh Azeez took 3-42.
To cap off an excellent weekend, Grappenhall’s junior teams also won.

Warrington went down by four wickets at Cheadle Hulme despite posting 208, Jack Knowles 50, Richard Lyons 41 and skipper Ashley Scholes 36.
Muhammad Abid took 3-38 but the home side knocked off the runs in 45 overs for the loss of six wickets.
In the UKFast Cheshire League, Lymm Oughtrington Park lost by 108 at Wilmslow after the home side had hit a challenging 244-7.
Jack Hughes took 3-61 and skipper Travis Scholes helped stem the flow of runs by bowling five maiden overs in his 1-19. But the afternoon was dominated by the batsmen.
It was a different story after tea as Lymm were bowled out for 136 in 29 overs, despite opener Mathew Carr’s 46.

Appleton won by 10 runs in a keenly-contested game at Westminster Park.
Batting first, they hit 191-8, Liam Mannion top-scoring with 51 and Josh Coghlan 49.
The home side were bowled out for 181, with Adam Peters 4-47 and Amir Aslam, 4-38, the pick of the bowlers.
Appleton 2nd won by three wickets at home after dismissing Ashley for 105.
Openers Paul White, 60 and Mark Sands, 42 put on 95 for the first wicket as Appleton 3rd posted 172-7 at home to Lindow. But the visitors replied with 173-8 to take the spoils, despite David Walsh and Oliver Cross picking up three wickets each.
Appleton 4th were held to 109-9 at Irby, Anthony Hurst top-scoring with 50. The home side chased down the runs for the loss of two wickets.
Glazebury won by 10 wickets at Tranmere Victoria after dismissing the home side for a meagre 48.
Openers Wayne Hargreaves, 16 not out and Jordan Carroll, 30 not out, hit off the runs.
