Four men charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and robbery in connection with series of attacks on cash machines

UPDATED: FOUR men arrested in connection with a series of ATM attacks on cash machines in England and Wales including Warrington, have now been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and robbery.

The men have all each been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and robbery since they were arrested in the early hours of Thursday 7 July. They are:

Arthur Gaskin, aged 35, of no fixed address, Lee Leatherbarrow, aged 32, of Lascelles Street in St Helens, Luke Price, aged 32, of Southward Road in Haydock and John Price, aged 27, of Boathorse Road in Burslem appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on Saturday 9 July where they were remanded in custody.

They are next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 8 August.

The charges relate to 19 attacks on cash machines between Saturday 12 March 2022 and Thursday 7 July 2022 in Cheshire, Merseyside, Manchester, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Leicestershire.

Three of the men, aged 27, 32 and 35, were detained in Moira, Leicestershire following a pursuit by officers from Cheshire Constabulary’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit.
The fourth man, aged 32, was arrested at a property on Lescelles Street in St Helens after a warrant was executed.

Shortly prior to the arrests a burglary occurred at a Co-operative store on Shortheath Road in Moira at 3.45am on Thursday 7 July.
The store had been broken into in an attempt to steal the cash machine inside.

The investigation began after one a cash machine was targeted on Longshaw Street in Warrington.
