POLICE have arrested a local man on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a flat fire at Orford on Saturday night.
The 33-year-old man was arrested following a police raid on a local property.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed: “At 9.20 pm on Saturday, 18 June police were called by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service to reports of a fire at a property on Festival Avenue in Orford. The flat was unoccupied at the time the fire began.
“It is believed to have been started deliberately and is being investigated by police as arson.
“A 33-year-old man local man has been arrested in the early hours of Monday 20 June on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and is in police custody for questioning.”
