HUNDREDS of people from across Warrington and further afield turned out for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life event at Victoria Park on Sunday.
The charity’s much-loved event returned to the town at Victoria Park with women, men and children choosing from a variety of activities from 3k, 5k and 10k events.
One in two people in the UK born after 1960 will get cancer in their lifetime. Money raised at Race for Life enables scientists to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer- helping to save more lives. People of all ages and abilities took part in the raceforlife.org
The event was greeted by sunshine for much of the day with many of the participants dressed in pink and fancy dress.
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, raises funds for world-class research to help beat 200 types of cancer – including bowel cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, testicular cancer, brain cancer, and children’s cancers and leukaemia.
