RESIDENTS living in the Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft areas of Warrington are being warned to ensure their homes are secure following an increase in burglaries during recent warm weather.
Local police say the recent warm weather has unfortunately caused an increase of burglaries where thieves are accessing properties via doors that have been left insecure and through insecure windows.
Even when at home people should ensure doors are locked where possible and that any electronics such as tablets and laptops are stored out of sight when not in use.
When leaving your property ensure all windows and doors are locked and that all valuables are stored out of sight. If your property is alarmed activate it.
Police advise these steps should always be taken even if you are “Only going to be a minute.”
If you see anything suspicious report it via 101 or 999 in an emergency.
